Anne blinked surprised, ‘I remind you of someone?” she asked.

‘yeah, there was a girl named Mary bonny I knew who had an older sister named Anne and you look like her’ Selina replied waving her hand dismissively sheepishly ‘just a coincidence, sorry for bringing it up’

Anne shrugged and smiled ‘guess I just got one of those recognisable faces’

Zephyr smirked ‘maybe but I’ve never seen you around here and I don’t think I’d forget a face like yours’

Anne smirked ‘is that supposed to be a compliment?’

“Depends, did you like it?’

‘Maybe’

‘then maybe it is” he smiled ‘so what brings you here?’

‘Oh I’m wandering around, looking for a little adventure and I thought I’d rest here for a while’

‘So you’re a traveller too huh?’ Deker asked.

‘Yep, I take it your travellers too?’

‘Kinda yeah’

Tessa looked to zephyr ‘is there any place around here I can stay for the night?’ she asked ‘I didn’t think to look for a place before I got here’

Selina smiled sheepishly ‘you too huh?’

Zephyr smiled at the three ‘well today is your lucky day my friends. As this place is an inn it is suited for guest for a suitable price’ he explained ‘I’ll have to check with Mrs. Hawkins but I’m pretty sure that  at the moment there no guests staying so there’s enough rooms for you all’

“Awesome!” replied Anne cheerfully before yawning “and none too sooner”

“Heh come on then, I’ll ask Mrs. Hawkins what room you can have” he replied and both went over to talk with Mrs. Hawkins.

“She seemed cheerful huh?’ asked Deker as he got back to eating his meal which had cooled down from hot to warm.

“Yeah” Selina said in a low voice and Deker noticed.

“What’s up? Something wrong?” he asked.

Selina waved her hand dismissively with a sheepish smile “I’m fine” she lied “just a little tied. I think the long travel and heartless slaying are catching up”

Deker smirked ‘heh and yet I’m fine’ he said mockingly ‘geez Selina, you must be getting lazy’

Selina’s eye twitched at the comment and calmly tapped her finger on Deker’s head, “too bad for you I’m not too tired to do this”

“Do what? Deker asked with a curious look and Selina gave him an innocent smile.

‘Gravity’ she simply said and the next thing Deker knew his head was forced face first into his pie. He raised his head as her spell wore off and saw her giggling with amusement.

‘Guess I should have seen that coming huh?’ he began wiping his lunch off his face.
‘Yes. Yes you should have’



‘Here is your room, ms read’ zephyr said as he opened the door for Anne and she stepped through. She looked around the room before looking back at him.

‘This room have a lock?’ she asked and he nodded.

‘Don’t worry you’ll have your privacy, only Mrs. Hawkins has the spare keys and she keeps them safe’

She crossed her arms and smirked ‘and you know about the keys?’

“Of course, I work here” he said before realising what she meant and went red in embarrassment ‘th-that doesn’t mean i-i’m a pervert!’

Anne chuckled ‘relax, I was just joking. You seem quite the gentleman’

Zephyr sighed in relief ‘i-i’ll leave you to your rest then. If there’s anything you need just ask’

She nodded ‘I will’

As soon as zephyr closed the door behind him, Anne immediately locked the door. ‘Finally . . .” she sighed in relief ‘I can lose this disguise. I mean it’s great and all but I prefer my usual attire’. As she walked over to her bed, digital blocks, code and light formed around her, before they faded to reveal the now violet haired girl’s true form.  She stopped just before the bed before clicking her fingers, ‘ah! Almost forgot’ she said to herself and walked back over to the door as her keyblade appeared in her hand and she started tracing around the door with symbols appearing where her keyblade had traced.

‘The door maybe locked but wouldn’t want anyone to catch me looking like this while I’m sleeping . . .’ Tessa said before she walked back to bed smirking ‘it might spoil the surprise’



The rest of the day seemed to fly by Deker, Selina and their new friend zephyr. After awhile zephyr began helping around the inn despite Mrs. Hawkins’s insistence that he take a break after his attack. ‘I’m fine and besides I can’t let Jim take all the work for himself’ he simply replied ‘besides our new guest went for a walk to explore.

Mrs Hawkins’s rested her hands on her hips ‘and did you offer to show them around?’ she asked.

Zephyr flinched when he realised he hadn’t and smiled sheepishly, ‘eh sorry, they seemed to have done some exploring on their own before so I didn’t think to ask’

‘You made some new friends Zeph?’ Jim asked curiously.

‘Heh heh yeah, kind of saved me from delinquents while I was fixing the boat and I offered to let them stay. I do kind of owe them after all’

‘Wait! You got attacked?!’ Jim asked concerned and Zeph waved his hand dismissively.

‘Relax, I fine. Nothing I can’t walk away from’ he replied dismissively and then smirked ‘and I’m sure they’ll be your friends too when I introduce you’

“heh, you really think it will be that easy huh?’ he asked amusedly ‘don’t think what happened today would have helped’

Zephyr shrugged ‘not really, I think what bothered them was what the police were calling you at the end’ zephyr laughed off as they continued to work ‘they seem to be good people’

After work was finished and the customers went away, zephyr and Jim made their way to the roof of the inn and sat at their usual spot. ‘So how is the boat coming along?’ Jim asked while playing tossing some pebbles.

Zephyr shrugged ‘not bad, if I could get the after burners working and the hydraulic to engage properly it would running fine. Then we could take it for a test ride’

Jim smiled ‘cool, I get to steer first’

‘Oh no you don’t, that privilege is mine. I didn’t get my turn on that solar surfer so I’ll take the first turn thanks’ zephyr said amusingly.

‘I really don‘t know how you manage it, Sarah.’ The two boys heard Delbert say through a window ‘trying to run a business while raising a felon like . . . fellow . . . fellow like Jim’

‘Managing it? I’m at the end of my rope’ Mrs. Hawkins replied ‘ever since his father left . . . well, Jim’s just never recovered’

Zephyr flinched when he heard that last comment and saw Jim turn away from the window, zephyr sighed, ‘we REALLY need to pick a better place to sit’ he thought to himself ‘too easy to hear to conversations like this’

‘And you know how smart he is.’ Mrs Hawkins continued ‘he built his first solar surfer when he was eight’

Zephyr smiled gratefully when he saw a small smile appear on his friends face, his mother was right though. Jim wasn’t stupid; he was the only one who could match his talent in building and engineering. The day he met Jim was when he started working on the solar boat and Jim helped him out, they’d been friends ever since then. ‘Now that’s a more positive tune to hear’ he thought.

‘And yet, he’s failing school, he is constantly in trouble and when I talk to him. He’s like a stranger to me’ she continued saying and zephyr face palmed when he saw his friends smile vanish only to be replaced with a frown.

‘And now comes the negative tune, would you make up your mind!’

‘I don’t know, Delbert. I’ve tried everything . . .’ before they could hear the rest of Mrs. Hawkins talk, zephyr saw the way to get out of it approaching the inn and smiled.

‘Hey Jim!’ he said as he grabbed his friends arm ‘come on! I got some friends to introduce’

‘Hey wait!’ Jim tried to stop him but his friend had already jumped to the ground and he followed.



‘So why do you think the heartless are here?’ Selina asked as they walked back to the inn.

Deker shrugged ‘the usual, they want hearts to devour. This world is pretty big compared to any world I’ve seen so there’s bound to be lots of people, lots of people means lots of hearts’

‘True but what about the organization? They are the ones who are in control of the heartless’

‘They can control the heartless and have amassed a large army of them but don’t forget what master yen Sid and the others told us, their wild and behave of instinct. Their main goal is devour hearts to increase their own numbers’

‘When you put it that way they kind of sound like locusts, eat and reproduce’ Selina answered while pulling a disgusted face.

‘Heh, yeah but I’ve never encountered locusts that could devour worlds. Anyway I’m not sure the organization may be here, I think these are just wild heartless’

Selina looked at him curiously ‘what do you mean?’

‘Well think about it’ Deker began to explain ‘other than radiant garden, whenever we’ve encountered heartless under organization control, there’s always been the other creatures they control. The nobodies and the unversed, we haven’t encountered any of them while we’ve been here.’

‘That’s true.’ Selina replied and finally asked what she had began thinking ‘but what about garland, he controlled the heartless just like the organization and yet he didn’t seem to be working with them’

‘Yeah your right.’ Deker sighed ‘I don’t get that guy, I mean in our past fights he comes close to killing me and then he lets me go’

‘Yeah but that last fight I interfered with’

‘True. But something tells me he still could’ve done so. So why didn’t he?’

Selina wanted to protest saying that she wouldn’t have let garland hurt him but she knew deep down he was right. Garland was powerful and suspected that if Deker hadn’t protected her, she would have been dead herself.

‘Thanks for coming to help me by the way’ Deker said, bringing her out of her thoughts.

‘Hm?’

‘I didn’t thank you for coming to help that day, so thanks’

“heh, your welcome’ she replied with a smile.

‘hey you two!’ called a familiar voice the two keyblade wielders saw it was zephyr and Jim walking up to them ‘back from sightseeing? Run into any trouble?’

Deker shook his head ‘nothing we couldn’t handle’

“good to hear, I’d like to introduce you to my friend Jim Hawkins’ zephyr introduced Jim and then turned to him ‘Jim this is Deker Rayleigh and Selina faithcrest’

‘Hey. So you were the guys that saved Zeph right?’ Jim asked.

Selina nodded ‘that’s right’

‘Although it seemed zephyr wasn’t doing too bad with a metal bar’ added Deker and zephyr scratch the back of his head while smiling sheepishly.

‘Still wouldn’t have made it though if you two didn’t step in’ zephyr replied.

‘Thanks for helping Zeph, he’s been a good friend to me and my mom’ Jim thanked Deker and Selina.

‘No worries’ replied Deker before his stomach growled.

Selina face palmed ‘you and that stomach of yours have real timing huh?’ she said before her own stomach growled and her face flared up in embarrassment.

‘Heh heh look who’s talking’ zephyr joked causing everyone to laugh.

‘I think there’s still time for dinner. I, Zeph and mom usually wait till after the guests have left or settled before we eat’ Jim explained.

Zephyr rubbed his hands together excitedly ‘well we ain’t gonna eat if we keep hanging around out here, let’s . . .’ before zephyr could finish a loud mechanical roar was heard before a small ship came crashing down and landed on an empty dock not far from them. ‘What the devil?!’ zephyr said aloud.

‘Come on! Maybe someone’s hurt!’ Jim said as he ran to the ship.

‘Right behind you!’ replied Deker as he Selina and zephyr followed after Jim.
